Boston Blotter: Cops Chase Armed Man, Officers Stabbed
-- Boston Police arrested a man with a gun on Thursday after chasing him on foot. The suspect was driving "erratically" near Egelston Square and attempted to park in front of a hydrant. Police determined the owner of the car was unlicensed, prompting officers to try to stop the car. The operator of the car exited the car and fled. Officers pursued the suspect, observed he was armed. After refusing to drop the weapon, police took it away during a physical struggle. The suspect faces various assault and weapons charges. [BPDNews.com]

Candidates Debate, Vandals Strike
If you saw yesterdays Rush Hour debate, you know the three candidates challenging Mayor Tom Menino brought a much sharper brand of criticism to bear. An intensifying campaign should be no surprise given the current political climate. Harsh rhetoric is one thing, and is actually good if focused on relevant issues in the campaign. That spirited debate has apparently spawned acts of vandalism is certainly an undesireable extension of spirited debates. In one case, there is surveillance video of vandalism on a Michael Flaherty campaign sign.

Fairey Faces More Charges
Will the Fairey flap never end? Shep apparently faces more vandalism charges for allegedly posting his street art in Boston, at a time when his lawyer alleges Fairey was not even in town. He is apparently in town today to be arraigned on these new charges in Boston, then he'll face up to the old charges in Roxbury and Brighton. Busy man!...
