We've got a new controversy, courtesy of the Boston Herald. President Obama mentioned meeting a teacher from Boston named Robert Baroz who has been laid off three times in four years. Baroz visited the White House but never met Obama. He's currently employed, too.

The Herald says he fudged on Baroz being unemployed to bolster his jobs bill. The President never said he was unemployed. Three pink slips in four year is no way to live.

Here's the quote from the Herald:

“I had a chance to meet a young man named Robert Baroz. He’s got two decades of teaching experience. He’s got a master’s degree. He’s got an outstanding track record of helping his students make huge gains in reading and writing. In the last few years, he’s received three pink slips because of budget cuts. Why wouldn’t we want to pass a bill that puts somebody like Robert back in the classroom teaching our kids?”

Why let the record get in the way of a gotcha headline?

    Obama = Herbert Hoover
  • President Obama needs another four years to accomplish things. The obstructionist republicans have been trying to sabotage the President. They need to work with the President into making America great again! Obama/Biden 2012

    Barry is a failure ... bring back Clinton
  • I would argue that Barry implied he wasn't employed when he said "puts ... Robert *back* in the classroom teaching our kids?"
