Mitt Romney Helped By Palin Not Running?

Sarah Palin isn't "seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States" - her words. We're not sure that rules her out entirely as a third-party candidate because she might just decide to go rogue again. She won't go away, however, as she still wants to liberate us from President Obama and, ahhh, help America by talking. "I need to be able to say what I want to say," she said.

What does this mean for the other Republican candidates? It might help Massachusetts' own Mitt Romney overcome a perceived ambivalence towards his candidacy. The Herald quoted a GOP consultant Ron Bonjean on Romney:

"This puts Romney in a key position to race ahead and capture the nomination unless (Texas Gov.) Rick Perry comes out of his nosedive. This helps Romney solidify his position as someone people are leaning towards because of Perry’s missteps."
