Boston Blotter: Pizza Killers Pleaded Not Guilty

By Matthew Gannon on Sep 7, 2010

The three suspects in the murder of Richel Nova, the pizza deliveryman killed in Hyde Park last Thursday night all pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges. Judge Kathleen Coffey held Alexander Gallett, 18, of Hyde Park; Michel St. Jean, 20 of Hyde Park; and Yamiley Mathurin, 17, of Mattapan without bail. The prosecutor bluntly described the suspects plans: "It was never their intention that Richel Nova would leave that home in any other way than a body bag,'' said Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Hickman. The trio allegedly stabbed Nova's chest and back, and slashed his neck. Police found a blood-stained pizza box. Nova's relatives held signs saying "Justice for Richel" in court. All charges alleged until proven under law. [Globe]
