Boston Blotter: Home Invasion Stopped by WWII Veteran
-- Police allege Alan Menchin, 19, of South Dennis broke into a Yarmouth home last week and was fought off by an 83-year-old marine and WWII veteran. Menchin reportedly hit the victim with a glass candlestick. He was charged with home invasion and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. [WBZ]
-- A Dorchester man allegedly killed his wife in their home on Saturday. He's being held without bail until an October 12 hearing. Assistant District Attorney David Deakin alleged the suspect admitted he killed his wife. [Globe]
-- Two men died and two were wounded in separate shootings in Malden. The shootout was part of an alleged robbery on Monday. Up to 11 shots were fired and several eapons were found at the scene. No arrests have been made in a Malden shooting that killed a Stoneham man on Sunday. [Boston.com]
