Boston Blotter: Revere Bomb Threat, Carjacking an Off-Duty Cop, MBTA Assault, Drunks, Hookers

-- The Revere Fire Department and the state police bomb squad responded to the Broadway Convenience Mart after a reported bomb threat on Thursday. A suspicious device - a soda bottle wrapped with duct tape - was detonated by a robot. Someone called the store to instruct a clerk to check a bag containg the device allegedly said, "If you do anything stupid, I'll blow the place up." [Lynn Item]

-- A 27-year old from Dorchester was arrested and charged with attempted carjacking after entering a car driven by an off-duty officer. The suspect said he thought it was his friend’s car. [BPDnews.com]

-- A Hanover man who allegedly assaulted a woman on an MBTA trolley on October 29 in Boston was arrested Friday. [WCVB]

-- A suspected drunk driver from Somerville was stopped after running a red light on December 28. The suspect failed to complete a series of sobriety tests. After several attempts, he allegedly said, “I can’t do it, just lock me up, I’m drunk.” [Somerville Journal]

-- A Boston man won at least $300 at Foxwoods and tried to spend it on three prostitutes. The man found the hookers on Craigslist. A dispute began after the women arrived and he demanded his money back. A ruckus spilled out of his apartment. [Herald]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
