Boston Blotter: Election Day Shooting in Dorchester, Muggings in JP

Blotter-Body-Outline.jpg -- Some Dorchester voters had more on their minds yesterday than the Boston mayoral contest. A 23-year-old man was shot and killed yesterday morning in front of the John Marshall Elementary School, which serves Dorchester as a polling place. Voting was briefly disrupted, and classes were dismissed early as a result of the violence. [Herald]

-- In JP, cops working the polls at English High School were able to nab three suspects for allegedly mugging two people in the course of a few hours. [UHub]

-- Somerville cops caught an alleged burglar with $3,600 worth of loot during a canvas of East Somerville, which has seen a spike in home break-ins. [Somerville Journal]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
