Drinking in Boston: Belgian Beer Fest

By Llalan on Oct 8, 2009

bbf_2007_header.gif Chocolate and beer. What would the world do without the Belgians? To celebrate their accomplishments in at least one of those categories, people will be flocking to The Return of the Belgian Beer Fest next weekend, October 16th and 17th.

Unfortunately for those of us slow on the draw, Night of the Funk on Friday the 16th is already sold out (we made it last year). There are two sessions on Saturday, however, and both still have tickets available. But the $45 tickets are limited to 1,000, so make sure you reserve yours quickly.

The ticket gets you access to speakers and panels that include such beer celebrities as Jason Perkins of Allagash Brewing Company, Andy Crouch of The Good Beer Guide to New England and a monthly column in BeerAdvocate Magazine, and M. François de Harenne, Director Administratif et Commercial of Brasserie d’Orval.

You also get a two ounce tasting cup with which to taste the huge selection. It sounds like a dinky, stingy amount, but when faced with over 100 Belgians to choose from, trust us, it’s plenty. To check out the impressive list of brewers from here and abroad that will be attending, check out the BA website. For memories of last year's fest, click away.

We highly encourage anyone who is at all a fan of Belgian style beer to attend this event. You will be wowed.
